About Dr. Andrew Thompson

I was lucky enough to be born and raised right here in Owensboro, Kentucky to a family that stressed the value of hard work and treating people the way I would want to be treated. My father exposed me to dentistry at an early age as he has maintained a private dental practice in Owensboro since 1979 over in the Veach Road Medical Complex. I began working in his office during the summers when I was in middle school. Whether it was cleaning rooms, cleaning instruments, or just watching and learning, I was quickly drawn to the profession and knew it was what I wanted to do.

I attended the University of Kentucky for both my undergraduate degree and my dental degree and loved all 8 years that I spent there. I am still a huge Wildcats fan and love watching the teams play! After college, I moved down to San Antonio, Texas to pursue a residency at the Audie L. Murphy Department of Veterans Affairs Hospital. It was here that I was exposed to many of the newest and most advanced technologies that are currently available in the dental world. I greatly expanded my skills by learning many different techniques, such as the placement of conventional dental implants and completing many full mouth rehabilitations. Though only in Texas for a year, my love of the state is second to only Kentucky and still shines through by my love of country music, propensity to wear cowboy boots, and devotion to Mexican food! I spent the year after Texas working for a dental company in the Northern Kentucky/Cincinnati area and was able to greatly expand my experiences.

I am eager and excited to be moving back to serve the oral health needs of my hometown and become your Owensboro KY family dentist. It is an exciting time to be living in Owensboro!
